JVC Kenwood Design utilizes its know-how in car accessories developed under the "KENWOOD" and "JVC" product brands to design in-car devices for automakers as clients. The company works on concept proposals, product design, and GUI design for a variety of in-car devices, including car navigation systems, car audio systems, dash cams, and speakers.
Proposing designs that incorporate knowledge of our own product brand product development

Since entering the car audio field with its own brand of products, the JVC Kenwood Group has been developing in-car devices that leverage our strengths in video, audio, and communications technologies. We entered the car navigation field in 1992, and in 2011 achieved high image quality and fast response times using our own proprietary technologies. Based on these technologies, we launched the "Saisoku Navi" under the "KENWOOD" brand in the domestic market in the same year, featuring high operability and a vivid GUI design. To this day, we continue to provide users with a rich in-car experience through the design of a variety of in-car devices.
Through these efforts, JVCKENWOOD Design has gained a wide range of knowledge in the design and development of in-vehicle devices, which it also utilizes in products for automakers. Our designers are aware of trends and create emotional styling and GUIs that resonate with users, using a user-oriented approach to design that allows users to feel the value of the product through their experience.
We are in tune with the client's brand strategy and the user's lifestyle.
When working on the design of in-vehicle equipment, we aim to make proposals based on a thorough understanding of the brand strategy of our client automobile manufacturers. It is essential that the design of in-vehicle equipment is consistent with the worldview of the car model in which it is standard equipment, and we apply the know-how we have cultivated through our own brands to proposals that contribute to the growth of our client's brands.
When it comes to dealer option products, which users can purchase at dealerships, we strive to not only create the appeal of the product itself, but also to meet the user's expectations.By providing functions and features that suit the user's lifestyle and life stage, we aim to design in-car devices that tell a story that enriches not only the time spent in the car, but also the travel experience itself.
Understanding changes in the mobility industry and diversifying user needs
In recent years, we have also been focusing on developing products for overseas markets. We conduct thorough research into local mobility practices and user lifestyles, and work to propose new in-car devices for cultural spheres different from Japan, designing not only automobiles but also travel experiences.
Going forward, we expect the entire mobility industry to change as automobiles evolve, calling for designs that can accommodate the further diversification of user lifestyles. At that time, we believe that in addition to the knowledge gained from global design research, the people-centered design we practice will become even more important. We will continue to take on the challenge of designing new in-vehicle devices that grasp the hidden needs of users of all attributes and create stories of rich mobility experiences.
