We implemented an internship program to provide students with an opportunity to understand the business operations of JVCKENWOOD Design and gain specialized knowledge about design development.
With the desire to provide participants with an opportunity to learn new things and grow, we created this internship as a place where participants could experience the appeal of design more deeply by combining knowledge input through lectures with practical work.

Program
The four-day program included lectures by active designers, tours of exhibitions, and a workshop on the theme of "disaster prevention apps and solutions" to help participants gain a deeper understanding of our business and the working environment. The program offered a wide range of learning opportunities, from inputting knowledge to practical exercises to put ideas into practice.
Day1
- Company introduction and business process introduction

- <Workshop 1> First half of "Disaster Prevention Idea Workshop"
- Talk Session
Participants learned the basics of design thinking in a lecture on "Human-Centered Design (HCD)," and then participated in a workshop on the theme of disaster prevention. During the talk session with employees, they were able to chat with employees who had been with the company for three or four years, and learn about their actual on-site thinking and experiences.
Day2
- Visit to the "21_21 DESIGN SIGHT" exhibition
- <Workshop ①> "Disaster Prevention Idea Workshop" Part 2
The participants visited the 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT special exhibition "What Will You Do Then? - Looking at the Future of Disaster Prevention -" (on display until November 3, 2025) to deepen their knowledge of disaster prevention, and then used what they learned in the workshop to organize issues and refine their ideas.

Day3

- Individual work
They learned modeling techniques using CAD and participated in a workshop on the theme of critical thinking, further refining their individual ideas through an exchange of opinions.
Day4

- A social gathering
The participants summarized their findings and gave a presentation to employees. After the presentation, the discussion expanded through feedback, and the unique ideas and flexible perspectives of each participant provided new inspiration for employees. At the social gathering, they further deepened their learning through interactions with employees, bringing the internship to a close.
Summary
Through lectures and workshops, this internship provided an opportunity to think from multiple angles about how to generate design ideas and connect them to society.
Participants commented that the input was rich and I learned a lot, and that it was fun, making it a very meaningful experience for us as well.
